Tampa Bay leaders activate the Regional Business Plan

Nearly 100 team members convened at the St. Petersburg College Collaborative Labs engagement to establish the top priorities and to architect the growth of 150,000 jobs within four industry clusters.

Over the last few months, the Tampa Bay Partnership led and organized teams around the industry clusters identified by SRI in a first-of-a-kind Regional Business Plan for the Tampa Bay region.  Economic development agencies from each of the eight counties along with the Regional Worlforce Boards worked together to finance the study in partnership with a federal Economic Development Administration grant.  Now that the teams have digested the study's findings, at Collaborative Labs they sorted and prioritized the top actions and outcomes designed to connect business needs with enabling solutions.

The extraordinary outcome of the day was the diversity of collaboration among team members.  Contributors included senior business executives, academic scholars, researchers and economic development professionals.  READ MORE.

According to research conducted by ONE BAY: Healthy Communities, Tampa Bay lands at the middle to bottom of state and national health rankings, and falls below in areas of critical concern. A healthier region means a healthier, more productive and less costly workforce for employers, which strengthens Tampa Bay’s ability to compete globally.

www.healthytampabay.com was recently launched as a measurement tool with real-time health-related data to track Tampa Bay’s progress in improving its health. The site houses more than 100 indicators for each of the region’s eight counties as a one-stop source for health-related data and news.
